The Block Dock clocks up a win in 2022!
A single-person business has taken out the top prize in The David Awards 2022, showing that with ingenuity, courage and determination, even the smallest business can achieve great things. The Block Dock was named Supreme Winner 2022 after much deliberation, with the Judges announcing the Category Winners and Supreme Winner of The David Awards 2022 today (see full list below).
Clare Wilson, owner of The Block Dock, is thrilled to be named the Supreme Winner, as well as taking out the Solo Meo category which recognises single-person businesses, and being a finalist in the Most Innovative Business category. “This will give me a great boost,” says Clare. “Confidence is one of the most important things we can have to build a great life and when things like this happen, which are magnificent, not only does it bring joy in the moment, but it cements further the confidence that actually, I can do it.”
“Being in a business on your own takes a special sort of person. One who is passionate about what they do,” says Judge Diane Hurford. “They need to be a multi-tasker, be nimble, resilient and come up with creative solutions to any challenges they face. This year’s Supreme Winner is outstanding in all regards!”
The Judges also noted that for several years in a row now they have seen year-on-year improvements in the quality of entries, with this year’s numbers also equaling last year’s record tally.
