Reset & Shine was established in 2024 to fill a critical gap in the cleaning industry, supporting people whose homes have moved beyond what a standard cleaning service can handle. Founded by a former support worker with a background in disability and mental health care, the business was created to serve individuals who are often overlooked by traditional services. We provide general home cleaning, deep cleans, hoarding support, decluttering, deceased estate clear-outs, and ongoing maintenance plans. However, what truly sets us apart is our trauma-informed, judgement-free approach. Our clients include people living with disabilities, neurodivergent individuals, overwhelmed caregivers, elderly clients, and those recovering from grief, crisis, or domestic violence. Many of our cleans involve complex situations where empathy, patience, and discretion are essential. We understand that for many of our clients, letting someone into their home is a vulnerable experience. That’s why we approach every job with compassion and care, working alongside individuals and families to restore not just their homes, but their confidence and wellbeing. From this core mission, we launched the Reset Project, our social impact arm that funds or subsidises cleans for people in crisis who cannot afford our services. These cleans are often referred through support services, and can be a crucial step in helping someone regain safety, health, and control in their life. The Reset Project is made possible through sponsorships, fundraising, volunteer contributions, and community donations. Every funded clean has a ripple effect—restoring hope, stability, and dignity to people who are often at breaking point. Our work supports not only the person in need, but often their entire family or whānau. In 2025, we began expanding our reach through new initiatives that will allow us to serve even more people and create pathways for community involvement. We’re proud to be building a values-led business that combines high-quality service with deep social purpose. Reset & Shine is more than a cleaning business, it’s a movement for change. We believe that everyone deserves to live in a safe, functional, and uplifting space.

We work with individuals struggling with hoarding, trauma, disability, ADHD, domestic violence, loss, and mental health challenges. When someone’s home has become unmanageable, we step in, not with judgement, but with kindness, strategy, and support. We believe no one should feel ashamed of their home. That’s why we’ve created a trauma-informed approach to cleaning that helps people take back control in environments that feel overwhelming. We go far beyond dusting and vacuuming, we help people breathe again. In just over a year, we’ve already made a real impact. We’ve completed six full hoarding cleans, supported clients in crisis, and launched the Reset Project, our social impact arm that funds cleans for people who cannot afford help but desperately need it. We’ve supported survivors of domestic violence, people who’ve lost their homes, and those living in extreme hardship. And we’re just getting started. This year, we’ve taken over a local op shop and are transforming it into a community resource hub. Through this space, we’ll discreetly provide essentials, like clothing, household goods, and support, to people starting again. We’re also developing a food bank and shared meal space, so those feeling isolated or struggling to get by know they have somewhere to turn. Reset & Shine is a lifeline for people who feel alone and overwhelmed. When every other door has closed, we show up.
