About My Business

Dew Drops Postpartum was founded in early 2022 in response to the growing need for deeper, more holistic postpartum care - support that’s not only practical, but emotionally safe and nurturing through pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting. Based in Canterbury, we’re proud to have provided over three years of care to our local community. With strong foundations in place, we’re expanding into other regions of Aotearoa, growing a wider village for families across the country. Dew Drops began from lived experience - navigating early parenthood without a village, and seeing how common that story is in a lot of homes, families and communities. The early weeks and months (and years, to be real) can be beautiful, but also exhausting and isolating, and we believe no one should carry the mental, emotional, and physical load of parenting alone. Our support gently steps in to help hold space and lighten the load for families at any stage of their parenting journey. Our approach is intuitive and led by initiative, creating space for parents to rest, recover, and simply breathe. While we specialise in postpartum, we also support families through other demanding seasons such as grief, overwhelm, burn out, surgery and beyond. We offer practical and emotional in-home care grounded in safety, professionalism, and compassion. Every visit is tailored to each family’s needs, whether that looks like postpartum planning, food prep, housework, childcare, or simply asking “have you eaten today?” while putting the jug on. Our focus is to nourish and nurture not only the mother, but the whole home. Our team brings together diverse, qualified backgrounds in doula work, life coaching, early childhood, and community support. We take our work seriously, providing our team with in-depth training in maternal mental health, trauma awareness, peer support, and the transitions of matrescence. Safety underpins everything we do, with strong policies in place to guide and protect both our team and the families we support. This isn’t just about helping out - it’s about creating safer, more supported experiences of parenthood. Because when parents are well supported, families thrive.

Why We Should Win The Peoples Choice Award

Becoming a parent is amazing, but it can also be incredibly overwhelming. Those early days, weeks, and months can be exhausting, emotional, and often isolating. That’s exactly why Dew Drops Postpartum was born - to provide safe, practical and emotional support where it’s needed most, in the safety of home. Our team is carefully selected, hosting backgrounds in doula care, early childhood, life coaching, community support and mental health. We support our qualified team with deeper training and expertise in maternal mental health, matrescence and trauma-aware care that truly supports the delicate transitions of parenting. Our founder brings over a decade of experience in mental health advocacy and peer support, including maternal mental health alongside lived experience as a parent without a village herself. She is trained in matrescence, the profound identity shift of becoming and being a mother, and this insight shapes everything we do. That human understanding, paired with clinical knowledge and in depth nurturing training, forms the foundation of the safe, professional care we offer. Yes, we fold laundry. Yes, we prep meals and care for older kids. But every act of support is done with an understanding of the mental load, emotional weight, and vulnerability that surrounds new parenthood. We show up with heart and skill, creating space for parents to rest, reset, and be truly seen - safely. Since our launch in early 2022, we’ve supported hundreds of families across Canterbury. Many welcome us back for second or third babies, trusting us to care not only for their homes, but their emotional wellbeing too. Voting for Dew Drops means standing behind a team who leads with both compassion and clinical insight. It means recognising that new families need more than just help - they need safety, expertise, and care they can truly trust. We’re also committed to making this support available to all families through koha-based care and fundraising, we ensure no one misses out due to finances. We’re expanding too, adding in-home massage, nourishing food support, and more, again, all built around the same core value: safe, expert care for parents when they need it most. If you believe in holding families through one of life’s biggest transitions with professionalism, kindness, and deep respect, please vote for Dew Drops Postpartum, Your support helps us keep showing up safely, for those who need it most.
