About My Business

H&B- Hair Art & Beauty has been a proud part of Christchurch’s hair and beauty industry for over 25 years. We are known for delivering high-quality hair and beauty services, while staying true to our values of care, sustainability, and community support. From the start, our goal has been to offer a luxury experience that doesn’t come at the expense of people or the planet. In late 2024, we expanded our salon to include a purpose-built spa space. Every part of the project was designed with sustainability in mind- using recycled insulation and timber, and energy-efficient systems. The garden space we created as part of this build won the L. Smith Trophy for Best Commercial Native Garden from the Christchurch Beautifying Association. Around the same time, we also worked with Canterbury University students on a research project that turned salon waste into a strong, insulating material- made into a stool! This collaboration showed just how much potential there is in creative, sustainable solutions. We work exclusively with La Biosthetique, a French-German brand that shares our focus on science, results, and environmental responsibility. As proud members of Sustainable Salons, we divert over 95 percent of our waste from landfill, and offer clients the opportunity to return product empties for responsible recycling. Our team is the heart of our business. Many of our staff have been with us for over eight years, and we support their ongoing education with training from some of the best in the industry. This means our clients benefit from a high level of skill, knowledge, and consistency in every service. We also believe in giving back to the community that supports us. From Dress for Success and Kilmarnock Enterprises to local schools and sports teams, we’re committed to helping others thrive. In 2024, we were honored to receive the David Award for Most Outstanding Social Impact, and to be featured in NZ Business magazine. We are proud of what we’ve built, and even more excited for what’s ahead. Our focus remains the same: delivering exceptional service, caring for our environment, and supporting our community in meaningful ways.
