In 2011, Anna (the original owner and entrepreneurial force behind Move Managers) was working full-time in Hamilton while supporting her mum to downsize and relocate from Northland. She was the only family available to help and helping her mum sort through a lifetime of belongings, pack, move, and settle into a new city was overwhelming — physically, emotionally, and logistically. That experience opened her eyes to how many others must be struggling through similar transitions, often with no help at all. That’s where the idea for Move Managers came from — and why we exist today. We provide a fully managed relocation and downsizing service — a true “walk-out, walk-in” experience. Clients don’t need to lift a finger. We sort, declutter, pack, move, unpack, set up — and ensure everything is ready and livable at the other end. Beds are made. The fridge is on. The TV is working. The kettle’s ready to boil. We fill a critical gap — especially for people who don’t have family nearby, are physically unable to move themselves, or are navigating grief, stress, or life change. Many of our clients say their move simply wouldn’t have been possible without our help. We support older adults, busy families, executors of estates, and those going through transitions like divorce or illness. Our work is practical, yes — but also deeply human. We bring compassion, respect, and warmth to every home we step into. I’m incredibly proud to have taken over the reins of Move Managers when Anna, the founder, retired in 2022. Since then, I’ve continued to grow the business with heart, staying true to its original vision of supporting people through life’s big transitions with empathy and grace. What truly sets us apart is our people. We have a small but diverse, multitalented team who bring with them a rich range of life experiences, personal passions, and exceptional problem-solving skills. They work with initiative, empathy, and care — always thinking ahead to pre-empt our clients’ needs.
