About My Business
Slay sells body products that smell great and feel even better. It is all about smooth skin, boss vibes, and helping people feel amazing in their own skin. I started my business because I have psoriasis and wanted products that were gentle, but still smelled amazing and felt great on my skin. My skin is quite sensitive, so I started experimenting with making my own products a few years ago. It took a lot of testing, and there were definitely some failures, but I kept trying until I had products I was really proud of. Many of my ingredients are organic, and all of my products are vegan friendly. I like thinking about what people might enjoy, testing ideas, and choosing names that match the product. I chose the name Slay because it is something my friends and I say to each other when we are about to go on stage for a dance comp, or when someone is nervous and needs a bit of confidence. To me, Slay means “you’ve got this!” and “you’re amazing!” I wanted my business to have that same feeling, something fun and positive that helps people feel good. Slay officially launched in November 2024 at a local market. I sell at markets and through local customers, as well as online. I love having testers at markets because people can smell and try things, and it starts lots of conversations. I also make posts for social media, but because I am not old enough to have my own social media accounts yet, I use my mum’s phone and she checks things like spelling and grammar. One of the most special parts of Slay is my Soap of Hope. Every month I make a limited edition body scrub and donate all the money from that to a different charity. I have already supported 17 charities, and I love being able to use my business to help others. Slay is still new, but it is already more than just a body products business. It has loyal customers, 5 star reviews, an award winning body scrub, exciting collabs, and a growing community of people who support what Slay stands for. With every product, every donation, and every new idea, Slay is becoming a brand that helps people feel good, give back, and slay all day.
Why We Should Win The Peoples Choice Award
Hi, I’m Grace and I am 12 years old. I started Slay because I have a skin condition called psoriasis, and my skin doesn’t like many things. I needed products that were gentle, and of course I wanted them to feel and smell nice too. I began making my own body products a few years ago, and it took lots of experimenting to create the products I sell today. There were so many failures in the beginning, but it was so exciting when I finally had something amazing! Many of my ingredients are organic and all of my products are vegan friendly. Slay officially launched in November 2024 at a local market. I was a little bit nervous at first, but it was actually pretty cool because I had testers for everything and that really got people coming to my stall and talking to me about my business. Since then, I’ve had lots of repeat customers, and I’m really proud that all of my reviews so far have been 5 stars. I love when customers tell me how much they love my products and I always love reading my reviews. One of the best things is when I get new customers who have been given some Slay products as a gift and they loved them so much that they want to buy some more. One of my favourite parts about Slay is my Soap of Hope. I wanted my business to help other people too, not just be about selling things. Every month I choose a different charity and make a special limited edition scrub. I only make five, so it feels really special when they sell out and I get to donate the money. I am proud that I have already been able to support 17 different charities. It is fun researching charities and choosing one each month. Sometimes I choose a local charity, sometimes it might be a charity which has helped someone close to me, and sometimes customers send me a message and ask me to choose a charity that is important to them. I always go and visit to make my donation in person and I LOVE getting to meet everyone behind the organisations that help so many people! Winning People’s Choice would mean so much to me because it would show that kids can have good ideas, work hard, and make a real difference.
