DAVO is a one-person design and web studio run by me—David, a designer with over 20 years in the game. Based on Auckland’s North Shore, I help small to medium-sized businesses across New Zealand (and beyond) show up with style online and in print. I cut my teeth working in some of the country’s biggest ad agencies—Saatchi & Saatchi, DDB etc—before launching DAVO to focus on what I really love: working directly with good people to create great design. These days, I offer a full range of creative services, from branding and visual identity to web design and development—especially WordPress websites that are clean, functional, and easy for clients to manage. What sets DAVO apart? I keep things simple, personal, and honest. No bloated project scopes or jargon—just smart design that works. Whether it’s a fresh brand, an e-commerce site, or some scroll-stopping social content, it all gets the same attention to detail (and care). Over the last few years, DAVO has helped launch businesses, refresh brands, and solve all sorts of design challenges for everyone from tech startups and solar companies to local rental services and natural skincare brands. Being a small operator means I wear a lot of hats—but it also means every project gets the focus it deserves. I’m hands-on from start to finish, and clients know exactly who they’re working with. It’s that trust and transparency that keeps people coming back. The David Awards celebrate small businesses doing big things—and I’d be chuffed to have DAVO recognised among them. Thanks for checking out my story—and if you’re ever in the market for design/website etc, you know where to find me.
Because DAVO is classic Kiwi hustle—small studio, big results. It’s just me, building slick websites, crafting sharp brands, and helping good businesses punch well above their weight. No big agency overheads, no buzzword bingo—just honest work that looks bloody good and works even better. From tradies to tech startups, I’ve helped all sorts of legends tell their story online, and I’m proud to be the go-to for folks who want design that feels right (and doesn’t break the bank). So if you back local, love clever design, and want to help the little guy take the win—chuck DAVO a vote. Cheers!
