Agents of Architecture is an Auckland-based architectural studio founded by David Klosser and Selena Sager, who share a belief that thoughtful, purposeful architecture has the power to improve lives, strengthen communities, and create a positive impact on the environment. Our practice was established to help clients navigate the often-complex building journey while creating meaningful places that add lasting value to both people and place. As our name suggests, we act as our clients' agents throughout the design and construction process. We are more than designers; we are trusted advisors and advocates who help identify opportunities, manage risk, solve problems, and guide projects from concept through to completion. Our role is to ensure our clients feel informed, supported, and empowered to make confident decisions every step of the way. We provide full architectural services across residential, commercial, industrial, interior fit-out, adaptive reuse, and building remediation projects. Whether designing a bespoke family home, a multi-unit development, a commercial workspace, or helping revitalise an existing building, our focus is always on delivering solutions that are practical, sustainable, and tailored to our clients' unique needs and aspirations. Our journey began with a desire to build a different kind of architectural practice—one centred around relationships, trust, and genuine care for our clients. That's why we chose the name Agents of Architecture. We don't just design buildings; we advocate for our clients, guide them through complex decisions, and help bring their visions to life. We believe the best outcomes happen when people feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout the process. Since launching the business, we have been incredibly fortunate to work with amazing clients, consultants, contractors, and community organisations who have trusted us with projects that matter to them. From helping families create homes they love, to supporting businesses as they grow, to revitalising existing buildings for future generations, every project has reinforced why we do what we do. We are also passionate about giving back. We support community initiatives, contribute to industry education and mentoring, and are proud to assist organisations making a positive difference. One of our most rewarding recent projects has been supporting the Muriwai Volunteer Lifeguard Service through the design of their new lifeguard tower and sponsorship of volunteer patrol equipment. We have also supported initiatives such as the Special Children's Christmas Party and a range of industry and community events that bring people together and create opportunities for others. In 2025, we were honoured to be recognised as Most Client-Focused Architecture Studio – New Zealand, recognition that reflects our commitment to putting people at the centre of everything we do. Sustainability is an important part of the legacy we want to leave behind. Through sustainable design, remediation, and adaptive reuse projects, we help extend the life of existing buildings, reduce waste, and create healthier places for people to live and work. We are continually investing in our expertise, including Green Star accreditation within our team, so we can help clients make more environmentally responsible choices. We are continually investing in our knowledge and capability to support more sustainable outcomes. Most recently, members of our team have become Green Star Accredited Professionals, strengthening our ability to help clients design and deliver buildings that are healthier, more efficient, and more environmentally responsible. For us, positive impact is measured not only by what we build today, but by the contribution those projects make to the wellbeing of people, communities, and the environment long into the future.
