About My Business
Prudential Accounting is a family-owned accounting business based in Papakura, Auckland. We help SME's with their financial positions of their business by providing business advisory, meeting their tax obligations, and guiding them to make better decisions for future. We support small and medium-sized businesses, property investors, families, and independent professionals across a wide range of industries. These include construction and trades, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, childcare, transport, service stations, real estate, professional services, import and export businesses etc. Our service are not limited to just preparing tax returns, but we assist clients with tax planning, business structures, cash-flow forecasting, management reporting, business purchase and due diligance, bookkeeping, business advisory, preparation and submission of financial statements, income tax/GST/PAYE/FBT returns. What makes us different is the one-on-one relationship we build with each client. Client is not considered just a number for us. We offer dedicated accountant, manager, and partner manager, and thanks to our internal custom built CRM systems we have in place, if their dedicated accountant is busy, they can talk to any of our accountants and they will be able to pick up the pace exactly where it is. Client happiness is a fundamental part of our business, as that is how we build trust and goodwill. Much of our growth has come from existing clients recommending us to their friends, families, and business contacts. As mentioned, we have built custom CRM's and processes via automation which reduces manual work and we very much pass the reduced costs to our clients so they get the best of services with the lowest fees. We work on fixed-fee basis approach and a fixed monthly billing so clients can manage their cashflow better, which includes all core work. If the budget goes over the line, our firm takes that hit for the tax year and only advise client for future tax years. As a family business, we understand the pressures, risks, responsibilities, and time involved in building something of your own. We therefore accommodate our clients wherever possible and offer meetings outside normal office hours when required. We aim to build long-term relationships and be available when our clients genuinely need our support.
Why We Should Win The Peoples Choice Award
Prudential Accounting is more than an accounting firm to us. It is a family business that has been built over more than 10 years through hard work, trust, personal relationships, and the support of our clients and community. Our story is also one of development between generations. I joined Prudential while completing my studies and worked part-time for four years before moving into a full-time role. I started as an accountant, progressed to Senior Accountant and Senior Manager, and am now a Partner. Along the way, I became a Chartered Accountant and used my background in IT to help modernise the firm. Being able to grow professionally while contributing to the business my family built has made this journey very personal to me. As Prudential has grown, we have worked hard not to lose the qualities that helped us grow in the first place. We want our clients to feel that they can call us, ask questions, and speak to someone who knows them. We understand that behind every set of accounts is a real person who may be worried about tax, cash flow, staff, family responsibilities, or the future of their business. We do not claim to be perfect, but we listen carefully and act when something can be improved. Many clients told us that they had previously waited more than a month for accounting work or struggled to receive a response. We therefore worked to reduce our usual turnaround time to five to seven working days, and approximately 90% of our emails are now attended to within 24 hours. One of the achievements we are most proud of is that 15 former clients returned to Prudential over the past year after experiencing services elsewhere. To us, this means more than simply gaining clients. It shows that the relationships we create and the personal service we provide are genuinely valued. We also believe that a successful business should contribute to the community supporting it. Prudential has supported charities through sponsorships, donations, and professional assistance at little or no cost. We recently helped sponsor a Janmashtami festival at Bruce Pulman Park in Takanini, which was attended by more than 1,500 people and raised approximately $15,000 in donations. It was wonderful to see families, clients, and members of the wider community come together and contribute to a good cause. A vote for Prudential Accounting is a vote for a local family business that is proud of where it has come from but is still working hard to improve. It is a vote for personal service, affordable professional support, innovation, community involvement, and a team that genuinely cares about the people behind each business. We are grateful to every client, staff member, family member, and community supporter who has been part of our journey. If Prudential has supported you, helped your business, answered your questions when you needed us, or made accounting a little less stressful, we would be truly grateful for your vote.
