Adventure Alley is a family-focused indoor playground, café, party venue and parent support space based in Rosedale on Auckland’s North Shore. We created Adventure Alley to give local families a clean, safe and welcoming place where children can play freely, parents can relax, and the whole family can feel supported. At our core, we are an indoor play centre with a large multi-level playground, toddler-friendly areas, ride-ons, arcade-style fun and plenty of space for kids to move, explore and socialise. But our purpose has always been bigger than play alone. Our focus is on being #morethanjustaplayground — a place that helps make family life easier, more connected and more enjoyable. Since taking ownership in September 2024, Adventure Alley has grown into a multi-purpose family destination. We host birthday parties, private hire events, school holiday programmes, weekend supervision, messy play/sensory sessions, café visits, low sensory sessions, community events and family-focused workshops. Our Kid Care Holiday Programme has become an important part of what we do. It gives parents a safe, practical and fun option during school holidays, while giving children a day filled with play, activities and connection. We have also introduced weekend supervision, creating another flexible option for families who need support, time to work, attend appointments, run errands or simply take a break while their children are cared for in a familiar and fun environment. We have also recently created the Kid Care | Parent Hub, which reflects our wider mission. Through Parent Hub, we aim to bring helpful family services, education and experts into our space. We have hosted child first aid and nutrition courses, regularly welcomed a sleep consultant in-store, and have more parent-focused events and partnerships in the pipeline. Our goal is to make support easier for families to access by placing it inside a venue they already know and trust. The café is another important part of the experience, offering coffee, cabinet food, ice creams, kids’ meals and snacks so parents and caregivers can enjoy themselves while their children play. What makes Adventure Alley special is that it solves real problems for local families. It offers play, care, celebration, connection, education and community under one roof. We are proud to be a small business with big ambitions, built around children, parents and the belief that a playground can be much more than just a place to play.

Adventure Alley is a small local business with a big heart, built around children, parents and community. When we took over the playground in September 2024 and rebranded to Adventure Alley in November 2024, we had a clear goal: to create a place that families could trust, enjoy and feel proud to support. We wanted to build somewhere clean, safe, welcoming and full of energy — a place where children could have fun, parents could breathe for a moment, and the community could come together. Since then, Adventure Alley has become much more than a place to play. It has become a regular part of life for many local families. We love seeing children run in excitedly, parents relax over coffee, grandparents visit with grandchildren, and familiar faces return week after week. One of the best parts of this business is getting to know kids, parents and grandparents on a first-name basis. That is when it starts to feel less like a venue and more like a community. From day one, we have focused on being one of the cleanest and safest indoor playgrounds in Auckland. We have daily routines, weekly professional deep cleans and regular safety checks because we know parents are trusting us with the most important people in their lives. Adventure Alley also supports families beyond casual play. We have introduced school holiday care, weekend supervision, sensory classes for under-fives, low-sensory sessions for neurodiverse children, parent workshops, birthday parties, themed events and community gatherings. We are constantly listening to what families need and finding new ways to help. We also support the wider community. We host school, preschool, church, dance, corporate and fundraising events. We donate to schools, ECEs and local fundraising groups. We support other small businesses by offering pop-up stall opportunities and free advertising on our in-store TVs. We believe local businesses should lift each other up. In 12 months, we have grown from two staff to seven, creating local jobs and building a team that cares deeply about the experience families have when they visit.
