Youth Inspire is a charity based in Taita which supports at-risk rangatahi aged 15–25 into employment and to gain their driver's licences. We work with those who others turn away as they are deemed to be "too difficult", face too many social barriers, or won't be an 'easy win'. We open our doors to these young people and their whanau - we prove that, even without formal qualifications, these young people are motivated and deserve opportunities to meaningful pathways. Based in Taita - we are right in the heart of where we need to be. We provide hands-on, practical support including: bespoke employment programmes, work experience, driver licencing programmes, and wraparound mentoring to help young people build confidence, skills, and long-term career readiness. Our approach is relational, inclusive, far-reaching and uniquely responsive to the needs of our community. We work in partnership with local businesses, schools with large disengaged student populations, Police, Oranga Tamariki, and community service providers to create meaningful opportunities for youth, and protect them from any further harm or disadvantage. With growing demand and long waitlists, Youth Inspire continues to advocate for expanded support to meet the needs of our rangatahi.
